What does it take to make you smile about your dental experience? That is exactly the question Dr. Anthony Skiadas, DMD asked and answered before opening his extraordinary new 10 room, 6,000 square foot facility called Smilebuilderz. “Even our name reflects our mission,” says Skiadas. “We want to see you smile and we are going to do what it takes to build your smile.”
A Lancaster native, Dr. Skiadas has a vision for dentistry that focuses on convenience, comfort, and higher quality dental care. His new concept in dental care comes from what he would want as a dental patient.
“We created a modern patient-friendly facility that combines a full spectrum of major dental specialties, conveniently under one roof,” explains Dr. Skiadas.
“The multi-specialty practice means you can receive care for general dental needs, root canals, gum contouring, and surgery, dentures, bridges, in-lays, porcelain veneers, bonding, whitening – the works – all in the same place. The advantages are endless.”
Dr. Skiadas’ patients benefit not only from his advanced skills in dentistry, but also from his patient oriented philosophy.
“Why should you have to miss work or school to schedule a dentist appointment? We are here to serve our clients. They shouldn’t have to work their schedules around us,” explains Skiadas. “That is why we have evening and weekend hours.”
Smilebuilderz is not just a dental practice – it is a dental facility, equipped with surgical and recovery rooms, as well as general dental hygiene, exam and procedure rooms. The practice has two general dentists, an oral surgeon (with nurse-anesthetist), a periodontist, an endodontist, and soon, an orthodontist – all in the same location. Your records are under one roof and available on computer to any of the providers, at any time. “This way your dentist orchestrates your care and makes sure that the right person for the job is there to provide the best dental care,” notes Skiadas. “A major benefit to this is accountability; that was intentional.”
At Smilebuilderz, every detail of care from the staff to state-of-the-art equipment, and services focuses around quality and patient comfort. In the waiting room you will find on of the most spectacular fish tanks in Lancaster, a 50” flat screen, snacks, coffee, and iced bottled water.
The exam rooms are equally as accommodating. “The exam chair is the most comfortable chair I’ve ever been in, said patient Melissa Whalen. “I could watch TV or watch Dr. Skiadas take my x-rays or work on my teeth if I wanted,” Whalen said. “The x-rays were digital and displayed on my own screen so I could see exactly what he was seeing, instantly.”
Patients can also choose a TV station, DVD, music and headphones or a blanket and pillow to take a nap. “It’s all about your comfort and care at Smilebuilderz,” says Dr. Skiadas.
Fluent in English, Greek and Spanish, Dr. Skiadas wants to reach those groups in Lancaster who would be put at ease with his ability to clearly communicate with them in their native language. Dr. Skiadas firmly believes that this level of communication will greatly enhance patients’ care and comfort.
“The staff was unbelievable,” said Whalen. “I found that they were very attentive to detail. Even though going to the dentist can bring a sense of apprehension to some, I felt very comfortable at Smilebuilderz. I also appreciated the advanced technology.”
