
Nurse Anesthetist
Ed Mackey is highly educated. Just look at his course of study.
He received his RN from Lankenau Hospital and went on to earn his
BSN at Eastern University of
St. David’s, PA. He completed his critical care internship –
LVHS, Anesthesia residency - at Lankenau Hospital. He holds an MS
in Anesthesia from St. Joseph’s Hospital University in Philadelphia
and also holds an MSN from West Chester University. After earning
these degrees he went on to earn his PhD in general psychology from
Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona. And if that isn’t
enough, he is a current faculty member at West Chester University
in West Chester PA, and at Eastern University in St. David’s
PA.
Ed is an active participating member of the American Association of
Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists
(PANA), the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and the American
Psychological Association (APA).
Ed maintains a private practice in hypnosis/hypnotherapy in Kennett
Square PA. He has spoken at several national conventions on topics
concerning hypnosis, hypnotism, hypnotherapy and anesthesia.
If his education and experience doesn’t put you at ease, his
friendly personality certainly will. Ed spends much of his time reading
about the most recent advancements in anesthesia, and has participated
in thousands of chair side conscious sedations for oral surgery.
